Ingredients: For the wings: 1 kg of chicken wings, Salt and pepper to taste, 1 cup of flour (for coating). For the sweet and sour sauce: 1/2 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup rice vinegar, 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons honey, 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger, 2 cloves of garlic, minced, 1 teaspoon of cornstarch (optional, to thicken the sauce), 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil (for frying).
Preparation: Prepare the wings: Wash and dry the chicken wings well. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Coat the wings: Dredge each wing in flour, making sure to coat them evenly. Fry the wings: Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the wings until golden brown and crispy on both sides. Remove and place on absorbent paper to remove excess fat. Prepare the sweet and sour sauce: In a saucepan, mix the ketchup, rice vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, ginger and garlic. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 5-7 minutes. Thicken the sauce (optional): If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with a little water and add it to the sauce. Cook for a few minutes until the sauce thickens. Glaze the wings: Pour the sweet and sour sauce over the fried wings and toss to coat them completely with the sauce. Serve: Serve the chicken wings in hot sweet and sour sauce, sprinkled with sesame seeds and chopped green onion if desired. And now to enjoy some delicious chicken wings in sweet and sour sauce!
