Slow Cooker Roasted Pork Loin Recipe

Ingredients: Slow Cooker Roasted Pork Loin

  • pork loin OR Boston shoulder/butt, or scotch fillet, skinless (Note 1)
  •  tablespoons olive oil, separated

Rub the spices:

  •  teaspoons paprika, thyme
  •  teaspoon each garlic powder, onion powder
  •  teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
  •  tablespoon of pepper
  •  tablespoons of salt

Honey Butter Sauce:

  • unsalted butter
  •  garlic cloves, minced
  •  cup of cider vinegar
  •  teaspoon salt and pepper each

Thickener:

  •  teaspoons of cornflour/cornstarch mixed with a little water

How to Make: Slow Cooker Roasted Pork Loin

  1. Spice Rub:   Rub pork with about 1 teaspoon oil. Mix and sprinkle over pork. Pat to tie everything together.
  2. Brown:    Then heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the pork and sear until browned (do not let the seasonings burn). But put the pork in the slow cooker.
  3. Honey Butter Sauce:    Clean the pan. Add the butter and melt. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until golden. Add the remaining sauce ingredients, mix and cook quickly for 30 seconds.

Slow Cooking:

  1. However, pour the sauce over the pork. Cover the slow cooker.
  2. Pork loin:   i.e. cook on low heat for 4 to 5 hours (see Note 2 for cooking times for different sizes)
  3. Pork Shoulder:   However, cook on low for 10 hours (see Note 2 for cooking times for different sizes and Note 4 for oven, instant pot, and pressure cooker methods).
  4. So, remove the pork to the serving plate, cover loosely with aluminum foil (let rest 10 to 20 minutes). (See Note 6 on cooking)
  5. Of course, pour all the juices from the slow cooker into a large saucepan. Add cornflour and water mixture, mix.
  6. Thick sauce:   Then cook over medium heat for 5 minutes or until reduced to a syrupy consistency (Note 3).
  7. Finally, cut the pork into thick slices (1.5 – 2 cm / 3/5 – 4/5” thick). Serve with LOTS of butter and honey sauce!
