Fluffy Fried Balls

Ingredients for the Fluffy Fried Balls

Before you start cooking, make sure you have all the ingredients ready and on hand. For this recipe, you will need

  • 280g all-purpose flour.
  • 120ml of warm milk to achieve the perfect mixture.
  • 10g of brewer’s yeast to give it that characteristic sponginess.
  • 40g of sugar, to sweeten each bite.
  • 40g of melted butter, although you can also opt for oil.
  • A pinch of salt to enhance the flavors.
  • 8g vanilla flavoring for an aromatic touch.
  • 1 egg at room temperature, combining all the ingredients.

Step by Step Preparation of Fluffy Fried Balls

1. Dissolving the Yeast

Let’s start by preparing the base of our fluffy balls. Dissolve the 10g of brewer’s yeast in the warm milk. This will activate the yeast and ensure our balls rise properly during baking.

2. Mixture of Ingredients

In a bowl, pour the yeast and milk mixture. Add the 40g of sugar, the melted butter (or oil), the pinch of salt, the vanilla flavoring and the egg at room temperature. Mix all these ingredients carefully until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.

3. Dough Creation

Work the mixture well until it becomes a smooth and uniform dough. Kneading it for a few minutes will allow the flavors to mix and the dough to acquire a perfect texture for our balls.

4. Leavening

Place the dough in a warm place and let it rest until it doubles in volume. This could take about an hour, so be patient. This step is crucial to achieve the desired fluffiness in your balls.

5. Formation of the Balls

Once the dough has risen properly, it’s time for the fun. Form small balls with the dough and place them on a tray. Cover the balls with a clean cloth and let them rest for an additional 30 minutes.

6. Frying and Serving

Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. When it is hot enough, fry the balls until golden and crispy on the outside. You can serve them however you prefer, either sprinkled with icing sugar, accompanied by chocolate sauce or simply enjoyed alone.
