Stuffed onion bread is a delight that combines the softness of bread with a tasty filling. The onion gives it that special touch and the cheese and salami filling is simply irresistible.
It is an ideal option to share in a snack or as an accompaniment to any meal.
Ingredients
- 1 glass of milk
- 1/2 glass of oil
- 1 medium onion
- 400 g wheat flour
- 10 g dry yeast
- Salt to taste
- 1 yolk
- 200g salami cut into cubes
- 100g grated cheese
- Oregano to taste
Preparation
- In a blender, place the milk, oil and onion. Beat until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
- In a bowl, place the wheat flour, yeast and salt. Mix and add the blender mixture. Integrate everything until you obtain a smooth dough that does not stick to your hands.
- Let the dough rest, covered with a clean cloth, for approximately 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface with a rolling pin.
- Sprinkle the diced salami and grated cheese over the dough. If you wish, sprinkle a little oregano on top.
- Roll the dough carefully and place it on a previously oiled baking sheet.
- Brush the bread with the beaten yolk to give it shine.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake for approximately 25-30 minutes or until golden.
Once the bread is golden brown and crispy on the outside, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing.
Tips
- Onion : Prefer white onions for a mild flavor or purple ones for a more intense one.
- Kneading : If the dough is sticky, add a little more flour.
- Fermentation : Let it rest in a warm place without drafts.
- Filling : Make sure the salami and cheese are evenly distributed.
- Oven : Previously heated to 180°C, it guarantees even cooking.
- Yolk : Paint with yolk for a shiny, golden finish.
- Vary the filling : Try other sausages or cheeses for different flavors.
- Conservation : If there is any leftover, store it in an airtight bag to maintain freshness.
- Cutting : Use a serrated knife to cut slices without crushing the bread.
- Serve : Ideal with a cool drink or a glass of red wine.
This stuffed onion bread is the perfect complement to a meal or as the star on a snack table. To enjoy!
