I made the “Magic Cake” with 4 ingredients and it is the perfect dessert, light and fluffy

Every once in a while, we come across recipes that seem too good to be true, especially when the ingredients are minimal.

This is the case of the “Magic Cake”. With only four basic ingredients, it is transformed into an airy dessert, with a soft texture and a flavor that everyone loves.

Ingredients

  • 4 cold eggs, separated
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups of milk

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the yolks with the sugar until the mixture becomes pale and creamy.
  3. Without stopping beating, I gradually added the flour and milk, alternating between both.
  4. In another container, with the help of a mixer, bring the egg whites to stiff peaks. Once ready, gently add them to the previous mixture, using enveloping movements so that they do not fall.
  5. I poured this preparation into a previously buttered and floured mold.
  6. Cook in the oven for about 40 to 45 minutes. You will know that it is ready when you feel firmness when you touch it and its surface looks golden.
  7. I allowed the cake to cool in the pan before attempting to unmold it.

Additional Tips

  • Make sure the eggs are very cold before using them; This will make it easier for the whites to form snow more easily.
  • Although this cake is delicious on its own, you can serve it with a little dulce de leche, whipped cream, or fresh fruit to add extra flavor.
  • If when you cut it you see different layers in the cake, don’t be alarmed! It is part of the “magic” of this recipe. As it cooks, the ingredients naturally separate, creating different textures in one dessert.
  • To give it a special touch, you can sprinkle with powdered sugar just before serving.
