The culinary secrets passed from grandparents to parents and from parents to children are priceless treasures.
Today we will reveal one of those secrets to you: the recipe for some fluffy rolls that have been the pride of our family for six decades. Its simplicity and speed are as amazing as its flavor.
Ingredients
- Warm milk: 300 ml
- Warm water: 100 ml
- Egg: 1 (large)
- Sugar : 3 tablespoons
- Honey: 3 tablespoons
- Dry yeast: 1 tablespoon
- Melted butter: 50 g
- Wheat flour: 600 g
- Salt: 1 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil: 10 ml
Procedure
- In a large bowl, combine the milk, water, egg, sugar, honey, yeast and melted butter. Mix until everything is well integrated.
- Add the flour and salt and mix until you obtain a homogeneous dough.
- Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rest for 15 minutes.
- Add the vegetable oil and knead again.
- Paint the inside of the bowl with a little oil to prevent the dough from sticking.
- Cover again and let rest in a warm place for 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.
- On a floured surface, divide the dough into three equal parts and form three buns.
- Let it rest for 15 more minutes.
- Divide each bun into 8 portions and shape them into rolls.
- Let it rest for another 40 minutes.
- Brush each bun with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds to taste.
- Bake at 190°C for 25 minutes or until golden.
These fluffy buns are the perfect combination of tradition and flavor. Ideal to accompany your meals or simply enjoy with a little butter and jam for breakfast.
