The real recipe for Grandma’s Flora Pasta

When it comes to wanting something sweet, we always look for something simple to prepare and that doesn’t require so many ingredients. That’s why we bring you this delicious pasta flora, a homemade grandmother’s recipe that is easy to prepare and you will love it.

One of the key points of this sweet recipe is that it doesn’t take as long as the others. As for the filling, it was originally made of quince, but lately that changed and it is made to the taste you want, among them you can see sweet potato filling, pastry cream, dulce de leche, etc.

Likewise, the most important thing about this preparation is the dough. To get it with the ideal flavor and texture, you just have to follow the recipe and have each of the ingredients needed.

For this traditional flora pasta recipe, you will need:

Ingredients

  • 300 g of flour 0000 (4 zeros)
  • 120g sugar
  • 120 g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 bag of baking powder
  • 1/2 lemon peel
  • 200 g Quince
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • A little icing sugar to sprinkle at the end

Preparation

1- To begin, we sift the flour into a bowl and add the butter (somewhat soft at room temperature), the sugar, a pinch of salt, the yeast and the grated lemon peel. We mix all these ingredients by hand.

2- While mixing, add the eggs little by little and knead with the dough, until it is homogeneous. Once the kneading is finished, we make a ball with the dough and send it to the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, with something covering the bowl.

Before working with the dough, it is ideal to have a 30×30 cake pan (it doesn’t matter if it is 2 cm more or less).

3- After time, we cut 25% of the dough and stretch the other 75% with the help of a rolling pin and a little flour so that it does not stick. With the dough stretched, we put it on the mold and with the tips of our fingers, we support the dough on the mold, making it take the same shape.

4- Now we just need to add the quince. With 200 gr. It’s perfect, but if you like it, you can add much more.

5- We stretched that 25% of dough that we had previously saved lengthwise and took out the strips. You can make any shape you want, squares, rhombuses, etc.

6- We send the pastafrola to a preheated oven at 180°C for 35 minutes. Cooking time may vary, just take it out when the strips and sides are golden brown.

7- It is important to let it cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.

And voila, we now have a delicious traditional flora pasta. If you liked this recipe, remember that on our website you can find many similar ones that you will love!
