Delicious and easy to prepare tartatushki with kefir

Taratushki are a lifesaver for those who don’t have a lot of time to fuss around in the kitchen preparing complex desserts. We will prepare such original fried pies with kefir, which makes them accessible to everyone.

To prepare this sweet treat you need:

  • 1.5 cups of kefir (fat content at least 2.5%); 2 tbsp. l. vegetable oil;
  • 3 tbsp. l.sugar; 1 egg; 0.5 tsp. soda salts;
  • Flour, about 2-3 cups (add if necessary if the dough sticks to your hands);
  • You can also add a little vanilla sugar or 1 tbsp. l. cognac

Taratushki are prepared in this way:

Knead a soft dough from the ingredients listed. You may need to use a little more flour so that the dough does not stick to your hands, cover and leave to “rest” for 20 minutes.

Sprinkle the table with flour, divide the dough into two parts, and roll out each into a rectangular layer at least 1 centimeter thick. Cut the dough layers into small rectangles. Make a slit in the center of each and turn the dough out, creating a twig-like shape.

Fry on both sides in a frying pan in a sufficient amount of heated vegetable oil. Be sure to let the finished taratushki rest on a paper towel.

This is how you can quickly and effortlessly prepare a great addition to a cup of tea. By the way, don’t forget to sprinkle the taratushki with powdered sugar before serving.
