How to make homemade dulce de leche mousse. Super soft and delicious!

Dulce de leche is, without a doubt, one of the emblems of the gastronomy of our land. Its sweet and creamy flavor conquers the palates of adults and children.

And if it’s already delicious, imagine turning it into an airy and soft mousse. It is a true temptation that melts in your mouth.

So, without further ado, I share with you this quick and easy recipe to enjoy our very own dessert.

Ingredients

  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup cold whipping cream
  • 1 cup cold pastry dulce de leche

For decoration:

  • Whipped cream
  • Caramel sauce
  • cocoa powder

Preparation

  1. In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff with a pinch of salt. Once they begin to foam, he adds the sugar little by little, continuing to beat until he obtains a firm, shiny meringue.
  2. In another container, beat the cream until it reaches whipped point. It is important that the cream is very cold to achieve the desired consistency.
  3. With enveloping movements, mix the pastry dulce de leche with the whipped cream. Try to do it gently so that the preparation maintains its aeration.
  4. Once integrated, add the egg white meringue in three batches, always with gentle and enveloping movements so that the mousse does not lose its sponginess.
  5. Pour the mousse into individual cups or glasses and place in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours to firm up.
  6. When serving, decorate with a little whipped cream on top, a few tablespoons of dulce de leche and sprinkle with cocoa powder.

This dulce de leche mousse is the perfect combination of soft and sweet, and is ideal to close a meal or as a snack.

The touch of cocoa provides a delicious contrast. I hope you enjoy it and that it brings smiles to your face at dessert time! Until the next recipe!
