Ingredients

for the batter
170 g butter or margarine
120 g sugar
3 eggs
120 g hazelnuts, ground
50 g flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
for the apple topping
850 g apples (e.g. Elstar), coarsely grated
½ cup sugar
2 eggs
1 lemon, juice
2 tbsp vanilla pudding powder
for the whipped cream
2 cups of sweet cream 200 g
cocoa powder each for dusting

preparation

1. First make a batter from butter, sugar, eggs, nuts, flour, baking powder and cinnamon. Then pour it into a prepared springform pan.

2. Now bake in a hot oven at 170 °C for about 30 minutes. This can also be done the day before.

3. Next, bring the grated apples to the boil with half a cup of sugar, the 2 eggs, the lemon juice and the pudding powder, stirring constantly.
Allow to cool slightly, then spread over the cake base in a springform pan. Then refrigerate.

4. Now whip the cream until stiff, spread it on the cake, smooth it out and sift some cocoa powder over it.
