Ingredients:
5 beefsteak tomatoes or vine tomatoes
2 garlic cloves
5 tbsp olive oil or salad oil
2 ciabatta
1 tsp spice mixture (tomato seasoning salt), alternatively salt and pepper but in a different quantity
Preparation:
Working time: approx. 20 minutes / Cooking/baking time: approx. 8 minutes. Resting time: approx. 2 hours / Difficulty level: easy / Calories p. P.: approx. 390 kcal
First wash the tomatoes, remove the greens, halve them and then cut them into small cubes. Then cut the garlic very small, add it to the tomato pieces and mix with a good 3 tablespoons of oil and 1 – 2 teaspoons of tomato seasoning salt. Be sure to let it sit in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
Preheat the oven to 180 – 200 °C (fan oven), take the tomato pieces out of the fridge.
Then cut the ciabatta into slices approx. 1 cm thick and drizzle them with the remaining oil.
Place baking paper on an oven rack (important) and bake the ciabatta slices spread out on it in the middle of the oven until golden – not too dark, otherwise they will be too hard, this takes 5 – 8 minutes.
Take the ciabatta slices out of the oven and top with the tomato-garlic mixture, 1/2 – 1 tbsp per slice.
Always a success, great for the grilling season, easy to prepare when guests come and is purely vegetarian.
