When aphids and ants arrive in the garden, we have different options available to manage them, it’s up to us to understand how to block their progress.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the garden, ants can be considered both  a resource and a threat depending on the circumstances.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the one hand, ants can be useful in the garden because they help maintain cleanliness by removing the remains of dead plants and insects, keeping the garden clean and tidy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what happens if instead of favoring the plant,  they come into conflict with it<\/strong>  and, together with aphids, harm its health?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, we may find ourselves faced with the need to eliminate them because ants can compete with plants for food, feeding on  the sugary secretions<\/strong>  produced by plant roots or flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is because  ants can harvest seeds and seedlings and carry them away from the garden<\/strong>  , preventing germination and plant growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not to mention the damage that ants can cause to plant roots, creating galleries and causing plant death. Ants can  protect and feed pests such as aphids<\/strong>  and ladybugs, allowing them to thrive and cause further damage to plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To avoid damage to garden plants, it is important to maintain good ant control, for example with the use of  physical barriers<\/strong>  or specific insecticides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Natural products<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although you can also purchase commercial insecticide products to kill ants, keep in mind that they can also harm other beneficial life forms in the garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to nature, using natural substances is the best choice. In fact, natural materials such as talcum powder or cornmeal can be used to repel ants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also plant repellent herbs like  mint or garlic around your garden<\/strong>  .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Physical barriers can also help keep them away from our lettuce. We can create a barrier around plants using a non-permeable material, such as beeswax or silicone, to prevent ants from reaching our plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also  create an attractive area<\/strong>  for ants away from your plants, so they can feed there rather than in the garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Especially during the summer months, ants can multiply around plants and thus interfere with their normal growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, if there are aphids and ants, a completely natural remedy that will keep ants away from our garden is cornmeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will need to sprinkle the  cornmeal around the plants<\/strong>  , the ants will take it to their anthill and eat it but will not be able to digest it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, cornmeal is not dangerous for children or pets, and ants don’t like spices, such as cloves  ,<\/strong>  cinnamon, chili powder, and ground coffee.
